The Colombian coffee culture landscape Zona Cafetera - also known as the Coffee Triangle - has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since mid-2011. It comprises 46 municipalities with a total of around 24,000 coffee farms.

The most important cultivation regions of Colombia lie beside so-called coffee triangle, consisting of the Departments Caldas, Quindio, Risaralda, Huila and Cauca. Only Arabica is grown here.
Colombian coffee owes its special characteristics to the mountains that produce a multitude of microclimates. A microclimate is the special climate of an area that forms in air layers close to the ground. Accordingly, it is heavily influenced by the existing surfaces, such as the substrate and vegetation.
Thanks to the even tropical climate, the coffee cherries can grow gently.
